It's that exciting time of year when we get to dream of camping at Owassippe in warmer weather, aquatics on Blue Lake, Merit Badge classes, and campfires with your friends and fellow Scouts!
Please come to the Troop meeting next week, 3/16, with your questions and for more information. I'll make an announcement during the first and last part of the meeting.
The following week, 3/23, we will be handing out Packets that include a Registration form and a worksheet to plan out Merit Badge class times. Please plan on picking up your packet!
And don't lose them! Myself and a few other Troop Leaders are committed to registering T81 Scouts when the Owassippe Online Registration opens. We will need you to return your Registration form and selections by a deadline of April 6th, (the Thursday right after Dist. 204s Spring Break ends).
First year Scouts will be given information and a schedule of a pre-set program.
Second year and older scouts may pick their choices of Merit Badge classes to attend.
You can register late by May 15th, but the price goes up and you may not get your choice of MB class.
So you can be preparing for payment, the cost of camp is usually around $450+. Scholarships are available, and funds in your Scout Account can be utilized. Please talk to Treasurer Jim Simnick should you be considering a request for scholarship funds. We never want the cost of camp to be the reason a Scout can't attend. The fees for Camp will be due at the Troop meeting on May 4th.
Health Form Part C must be handed in to attend camp and also requires a doctor's signature. Please make your appointments now. Part C will also be due May 4th.
This year the bus leaves from Hill Middle School early Saturday morning, June 24th, to travel up to Michigan together. Camp dates are 6/24 through Saturday, July 1st. The bus usually returns in the afternoon upon return.
